SWIFT Wind Turbine
Wind
The SWIFT Wind Turbine is a 1.0 kW, grid-connected, structure or pole-mountable wind turbine that generates electricity by harnessing the power of the wind. With unique, patented technologies the SWIFT provides unprecedented safe, efficient, and near silent operation.
Cascade Renewable Energy’s team of engineers supporting SWIFT has a passion for providing safe, clean energy for everyone. With installations worldwide, this design icon has been quietly generating clean energy for homeowners, community groups, and commercial customers, for over five years. The emphasis of the SWIFT design has been focused on safety, reliability, and ease of operation, alongside the high-performance of this innovative system.
Unique technologies led to the filing of five international patents, which allow the SWIFT Wind Turbine to offer:
• Quiet, innovative design suitable for rural, urban, and suburban areas
• Flexible mounting options for optimizing a renewable energy source in a variety of locales
• Grid-connected unit offering safe, efficient, and autonomous operation without the use of batteries
• Visually appealing design
• Sustainable, harm neutral design - allowing SWIFT to become carbon and energy positive within four years
The SWIFT Wind Turbine is designed to be aesthetically pleasing and quiet. The patented outer diffuser ring minimizes acoustic emissions. The five-blade design increases efficiency. The mounting brackets incorporate a damping system to absorb a wide range of frequencies. Dual-fins direct SWIFT 360 degrees, keeping it positioned into the wind. A spring-loaded fin furls the turbine out of high winds for over-speed protection. SWIFT begins producing power at 8 mph.
Independent Testing
As part of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and U.S. Department of Energy (NREL/DOE) Independent Testing project, NREL is testing the SWIFT Wind Turbine at the National Wind Technology Center (NWTC).
Approval Lists
The SWIFT Wind Turbine can be found on the NYSERDA Eligible Wind Turbine list.
